Award-winning
author, Lisa McCourt, has worked in children’s
publishing since 1986, first as an editor, then as a packager,
and ultimately as an author. In 2007, three more titles
will join Lisa’s thirty-two published books, which
include I Love You, Stinky Face (and its sequels)
and the Chicken Soup for Little Souls series.
A former LMP Award finalist, she has appeared on CNN’s
Showbiz Today where I Love You, Stinky Face
was featured. I Miss You, Stinky Face was features
on the PBS Show Between the Lions. Her books have
sold close to three million copies, received starred reviews
in ALA Booklist and Publishers Weekly,
and garnered praise from over 200 other reviewers. She lives
in South Florida with her husband, Greg, son, Tucker, and
daughter, Lily Kate.

Ethan
Long's polished his talent at the highly regarded
Ringling School of Art and Design, from which he graduated
in 1991 and has since worked with a growing list of prominent
clients, including Nickelodeon Studios, Scholastic and Barnes
and Noble. His career then led him into children's books,
where he has illustrated and written books for many major
publishers, including Little, Brown and Co., Holiday House,
Inc., and Dutton Children's Books. His work has earned many
awards and has been included in the prestigious shows of the
Society of Illustrators Los Angeles and the Society of Illustrators
New York. His many books include Tickle the Duck, Fiesta
Fiasco, The Day My Runny Nose Ran Away, Trollerella,
and Snarf Attack, Underfoodle and the Secret Life: The

David
Kirby is the author or co-author of twenty-two books,
including the poetry collections (for adults) The Ha-Ha, The
House of Blue Light, and The Traveling Library
in addition to a collection of essays, What Is a Book?
We will be showcasing his children's picture book The
Cows are Going to Paris. A member of the National
Book Critics Circle, Kirby also writes regularly for The
New York Times Book Review, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution,
and The San Francisco Chronicle. He has received
many honors for his work, including the Brittingham Prize
in Poetry and citations in Best American Poetry,
and Pushcart Prize. He's been awarded a Guggenheim
Fellowship and grants from the National Endowment for the
Arts and Florida Arts Council. |

Sherry
North is the author of The School that Sank,
a whimsical story set in the Caribbean, and two
more picture books to be published in 2007 and 2008. Her
work has appeared in Highlights for Children, and
she wrote the script for Discovery Education's
Food Smarts for Kids, a classroom DVD about
the Food Pyramid. Sherry is also a journalist and former writer/producer
for CNN Headline News. She currently writes for
WebMD and two public television series, Healthy Body,
Healthy Mind and The Art of Women's Health. Sherry
lives in Ft. Lauderdale with her husband and son.

Mary
Beth Lundgren is the author of the picture book
We Sing the City and the young adult novel Love,
Sara. We will be showcasing her picture book Seven
Scary Monsters. She has written stories, poems, and
articles for Spider, Cricket, Pockets,
and My Friend, as well as many articles and essays
for adult newspapers and magazines. For three years, she
tutored students at an adult literacy program, and also
wrote an award-winning, restricted-vocabulary book about
computers for the organization. A member of the Society
of Children's Writers and Illustrators, Mary Beth lives
in Cape Coral with her husband and three black cats. (When
Mary Beth visits close to Halloween, she can usually coax
one of her cats into coming along. They are amazingly good
at helping to scare off monsters.)

Bode is the author of The Anybodies, The

N.E. Bode is a recurring essayist for XMRadio’s XMKids.
N.E. Bode is the pen name of Julianna Baggott
who has published four novels for adults, including bestseller
Girl Talk, and two books of poems. Her work has
appeared in Best American Poetry, Ms., Glamour,
and read on NPR’s Talk of the Nation. She
teaches at Florida State University’s Creative Writing
Program, and is the co-founder of Kids in Need – Books
in Deed, alongside her husband David G.W. Scott.

Adrian
Fogelin is the author of four novels, Anna
Casey’s Place in the World, Crossing Jordan,
Sister Spider Knows, My Brother’s Hero,
and The Big Nothing. They have received outstanding
reviews and numerous awards. Fogelin offers two programs
for schools. "Think Like an Author" is an interactive
creative writing workshop for students and teachers; it
uses unusual writing prompts such as smells, objects, photos,
and mysterious wrapped boxes. "The Art of Writing"
involves a discussion about the process of writing. Fogelin
brings a manuscript and galley to show the stages a book
goes through from idea to finished product. She lives in

Joyce
Sweeney’s first novel, Center Line,
was chosen by Delacorte Press for their first annual prize
for an outstanding young adult novel. Center Line
was chosen by the American Library Association as a Best
Book for Young Adults and by the New York Public Library
as a Best Book for the Teen Age. Since then, Joyce has published
eleven other novels for young adults, including Shadow,
which won the Nevada State reading award in 1997 and Free
Fall , which was chosen by the ALA as a Quick Pick
and also honored by the New York Public Library. Players,
published in 2005 by Marshall Cavendish, was chosen by Working
Mother Magazine as a Top Ten Book for Tweens.
It was listed as a Top Ten Sports Book for teens by Booklist
Magazine. She lives in Coral Springs, with her husband,
Jay and cat, Macoco.
